Matt Mead is an artist filmmaker, working with single and multiscreen moving image and digital media. Matt is interested in using a range of formats, acquired footage and archive media, along with various techniques to tell stories. After graduating in philosophy and a short stint as a lumberjack, Matt worked his way up in various assistant roles in the UK film industry before leaving to develop his own creative projects.

His short films – Glade (2013), Chloe and the Helicopter (2014), Squat! (2015) – have screened at London Short Film Festival, Aesthetica (artist’s film category), BFI Flare Industry Selection, Fringe! Queer Film, GAZE International LGBT Film Festival Dublin. Heritage sector credits include: British Museum, Science Museum, Royal Museums Greenwich, National Trust, English Heritage, London Transport Museum, Epic Ireland (Dublin), National Museum of Scotland, Wellcome Trust.

Matt runs Claw Collective, a production company working principally in heritage and not-for-profit.
