Matt Mead

Filmmaker and director Matt Mead at a post-screening Q&A

I’m an artist filmmaker and creative director based in London and the Midlands

I shoot and edit video; work with animation/motion graphics; create and edit sound/music; and use archive and mixed-media to tell stories. I work with single and multi-screen projects, from installations to mobile content.

I gained a practical filmmaking education as an assistant on independent feature films and music videos. I then moved into being a creative lead, working as a filmmaker and editor.

My short films have screened at London Short Film Festival, Aesthetica, Fringe! and Scottish Queer International Film Festival, amongst others.

I work extensively in the heritage sector, making films to appear in exhibitions, visitor centres, and online platforms. This includes projects for: British Museum, The National Archives, National Maritime Museum, Science Museum, Tower of London, Wellcome Trust, English Heritage, Art Fund, National Trust, Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), National Museum of Scotland, Leeds City Museum and Brú Na Bóinne (Ireland).
